Week 3 of Unchained 18+ -Look, I’ll be real with you—reading the Bible isn’t always easy. Some verses go missing, some translations say it different, and if you’re like me, sometimes you trip over the words so bad you sound like you’re ordering off the world’s worst fast-food menu. (Yeah, I may or may not have said “find the 99 to get the one” about four times. Dyslexic brain: 1. Me: 0.)

But here’s the thing—we’re not hating on versions. I don’t care if it’s King James, NIV, The Message, or one of those parallel Bibles with more columns than a Roman temple. If it leads you to the real God, then it’s working. And you’ve got tools—apps, cross-references, amplified notes—to help you see the full picture.

And then you look at Jesus—dude gets dragged into the desert with the devil throwing curveballs at Him. He doesn’t argue. Doesn’t debate. He just says three words: “It is written.” That’s it. Game over. Devil can’t argue with truth.

Meanwhile, the world’s busy selling us knock-off versions of Jesus. Baby-in-a-manger Jesus. Political-rally Jesus. Chill-hippie Jesus. Parody-from-a-movie Jesus. Everybody’s got their spin. But here’s the hard question: Which God are you actually serving? Because if He looks more like a golden calf than the living Christ, then maybe we’ve built an idol instead of following the I AM.

We wrapped it up on the armor of God—just cracked open the belt of truth. We’ll hit the rest next week. But hear me: without truth, the whole thing falls apart.

So yeah—I fumbled verses. I stumbled over words. But the point landed: God’s Word isn’t just a book. It’s a weapon. A shield. A compass. And if you’re feeling lost, broken, or stuck in temptation—open it. Read it. Cross-reference it. And let it cut through the noise.

Because the devil’s still whispering. And the only way to shut him up… is to hit back with: “It is written.”
